"Quick Dine-in Meals"

"Quick Dine-in Meals"

When I'm on the run, & I finally get home, what can I make really quick, so I stay OP? Planning, practice, & ask for help.

1. Plan your week's menu, check the fridge & shop for the missing pieces.
2. Keep key ingredients handy: browned ground beef, cooked chicken breasts, salad in a bag, cooked brown rice, etc.
3. Get family members to help:

Here's what I did last night: I called the house about 10 minutes before I got home & asked DS14 to put up a pot of water for pasta. When I got home it was boiling. I put in whole wheat pasta. When cooked & drained, I added 2 wedges of low fat laughing cow cheese, a fourth cup of ff sour cream & 4 tsp of parmesian cheese. Microwave until cheese is melted. 4 pts.

4. Keep a list of quick dinners on the side of the fridge (I do!)
>turkey sausage, pasta, & carrots or cooked veggies
>soup (1 can per 2 people) & sandwich (turkey & bacon, tuna salad, peanut butter) & carrots or veggies
> scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, orange slices

5. Crock pot meals save the day!
> chicken stew
> beef stew
> lamb stew

6. Reheat leftovers. Try to make double portions, and put half away, before you start dinner, and I have another meal ready.
